The seasons of time have come and gone, yet he is accepting of his toil and labor, and well aware that he is in tune with the natural rhythms of nature and working outdoors. He is symbolic of tending to the tree that produces the "olive branch" or peace offering, without this man would be in a constant state of war all over the surface of the earth. This tree needs constant meticulous care with the realization that man who is our "other" is also closely tied to ourselves no matter how they might appear.
